Upper Pylon 2 – 2 x 08: Necessary Evil
This week on UP2, we bring you a short, but definitely sweet review of the film noir love letter episode “Necessary Evil.”
When an assassination attempt on Quark’s life leaves the Ferengi near death, Odo reopens a mystery dating back to his first day on the job as a security officer on Cardassian-occupied Terok Nor.
This is an episode that stood out in a big way to the UP2 crew. Tune in to find out why, and as always, be sure to tell us what you thought!

Ten Forward: Episode 173 – The Top 5 Guinan Episodes & Conversation
Sina made up some excuse about her daughter having a birthday party and handed over the keys to the bar to Firbob and El Galactico Presidente.
Unfortunately she made us promise on pain of.. er… actual pain that we had to talk about Star Trek. So the boys contacted Histrionic Spock to make the show sound professional and we all talked about Guinan for 90 minutes. We eventually chose the official Ten Forward Top Five Guinan Episodes.
Will you pick the same ones we did?
Will you be amazed at how many episodes she was in?
After 90 minutes of the show Jarman had to leave and Firbob and El Pres had a chat for an hour about Cars, Wives and football (that’s Soccer to you Yankees). Listen if you dare.
This episode was due to air next week but was pulled, kicking and screaming into this week. This means the end of the show makes no sense… and I don’t mean the chat!!
Sina can be found in a mental institute for the hard of parenting @queenkatblue

Grand Nagus Zek returns to Deep Space 9 with a once in a lifetime proposition for Quark: becoming the first Ferengi to establish a business foothold in the Gamma Quadrant. In order to accomplish this, Quark enlists the help of his business-savvy new employee, Pel. However, there may be more than meets the eye when it comes to this cunning employee. Will Quark achieve profit, or is he in over his head?
Tune in to find out, and as always, be sure to leave us your feedback!

Voyager’s Continuing Missions – Spirit Walk: Enemy of my Enemy
This week the crew discusses Spirit Walk: Enemy of my Enemy, the back of the book reads:
Chakotay and his sister, Sekaya, are imprisoned on the formerly Cardassian-occupied planet of Loran II. They soon discover that their tormentor is an old enemy: Arak Katal, the Bajoran who betrayed Chakotay’s comrades, the Maquis, to Starfleet. Worse still, he is also Chakotay’s second-in-command, Lieutenant Andrew Ellis — for he is in fact a Changeling, a shapechanger, a renegade Founder who has been rejected by the Great Link for his evil actions. On Loran II he has teamed up with Cardassian scientist Crell Moset, who he hopes will restore his Changeling powers to the full. But that is only part of their plan: Moset intends to create a new race, a superspecies to do his will, as the Jem’Hadar serve the Founders. With Chakotay’s Sky-Spirit DNA, they may just be able to pull it off — and stopping them could cost Sekaya her life.
Ten Forward Episode #172 – Supernerds & Overrated Trek
This week in Ten Forward:
Sina, Paul and Dan don’t get along and definitely don’t agree with each other’s choices of Overrated Trek episodes.
Thanks to Ryan Porter with Positively Nerdy for the show idea, and we missed you not being on the show to discuss your choices. You need to come back so we can yell at you.
Those of you who want to yell at Sina for her choices: @queenkatblue
Those of you who want to yell at the boys instead of Sina: @firbob1 & @dlevitt79

Upper Pylon 2 – 2 x 06: Melora
This week on UP2, we welcome friend of the show and frequent poster Keiran MacDuff to what may possibly be the lowest point of season 2 with “Melora”
When a new ensign with an environmental disability comes to DS9, Julian offers her a way to adapt to her problems. And starts some kinda relationship thing.
Oh yeah, and an old nemesis of Quark’s comes back to try to enact revenge….or something….
Seriously, will the episode still hold your attention by the time it’s over? Well, if not, we hope our show will!
Be sure to let us know your thoughts on the episode!

Yes it is the all new and improved Book Club. There has been a mutiny in the bar and a young, evil whippersnapper has boldly taken the helm.
He somehow manages to steer us through the book from start to finish and in a straight-ish line.

Upper Pylon 2 – 2 x 04: Invasive Procedures
This week, the UP2 crew takes a look at an episode with an awfully familiar lineup of guest actors with “Invasive Procedures.”
When the majority of DS9’s population is evacuated due to plasma storms, the senior staff is taken hostage by a gang of mercenaries. But it’s not money, power or hostages that these criminals are interested in. It’s the Dax symbiont itself, placing Jadzia’s life in mortal danger.
Will the crew be able to save their friend and chief science officer? Will the UP2 crew manage to make it through this episode in one piece?
Tune in to find out, and as always, be sure to leave us your feedback!

Upper Pylon 2 – 2 x 03: The Siege
This week on UP2, we wrap up the Season 2 opening Circle trilogy with the action-packed climax episode, “The Siege.”
When the Bajoran Militia issues an edict declaring that all Federation officers and civilians must leave Deep Space 9 at once, Commander Sisko must lead a rogue group of officers to stay behind and retake the station. Meanwhile, Kira and Dax must embark on their own adventure in order to expose the inner workings of the Circle and bring the uprising to an end.
Is this a satisfying ending? Did it fulfill the hopes of the UP2 crew? And what did they think of the trilogy as a whole?
Tune in to find out, and as always, be sure to leave us your feedback!

Ten Forward: Episode 169 – Star Wars & Other Stuff
In this episode of Ten Forward, Sina, got blown away by a Hurricane therefore the bar was left to Paul and Chris. In their usual, inimitable style they decided not to talk about Star Trek but about Star Wars & other stuff instead. They were joined by Jarman, Shawn Vanderloo and Damon Shaw.
*Warning* Ten Forward is normally a family friendly show and although some words are bleeped out in this episode, Sina was not around so the boys did get a little adult in their conversation.
Sina can be found on the East Coast looking wind swept.
