The Delta Quadrant – 4×08 & 4×09 – Year Of Hell

This week’s episode is parts 1 & 2 of Year of Hell! A two-parter! Hear Ben, Melissa, Geno, and Cupcake talk all about temporal incursions, Janeway’s traumatic stress, and even hear Melissa fall off the Chakotay wagon.

  1. I am currently watching Voyager for the first time and just finished the season 4 finale. I disagree about Chakotay being disloyal and slimey. I think he is a very open-minded man and is genuine trying to see if this guy has a solution. Why is it so hard to think that time travel could be a solution. We are seeing behind the scenes things Chakotay hasn’t seen with this captain. He doesn’t know the extent of the guys obsession. When he learns that, he admits Paris is right. Also I think the two episode arc was sufficient, the tone was very dark. Anya @ Blallywood.com

  2. I still think Chakotay was trying to get on their good side so that they wouldn’t get KILLED and truly believed his actions would eventually help the timeline, not destroy it. Chakotay is not evil like Anorax and he does know right from wrong. If I were being held captive for as long as they have been in this episode, I would probably try to get on their good side too in hopes of saving myself in order to eventually save the lives of others and my crew. Fighting would have accomplished nothing, not when you’re dealing with a meglomaniac like Anorax.
