  1. There appears to be quite a following of Star Trek in Poole and Bournemouth. Would you consider one of our hotels to hold your onvension in 2014?

  2. Destination Star Trek London was one big rip-off, biggest pile of garbage ever. A Ferengi would have been embarrassed by the sheer greed of the organisers.

    • Someone with sense at last! Yeah most of my friends left after 10 minutes. Basically pay to get in only. And for what? Queues… Queues, queues and more queues. The fact that you had to get a ticket to see the live shows, and if you didn’t you couldn’t watch from outside. The attendant’s were dumb, one was handing out tickets, ran out, but instead of starting from where she left off started from the beginning again. We didn’t get a ticket for one showing so we were watching from outside, the guy said can you move back please, to which my brother replied, how far? LOL They should be reprimanded for that, because we had paid to see the actors not to get in and get the overpriced shit on sale (£50 for a 3 inch toy model). Also it’s a free show, if you can’t get seated you should still be able to watch…. I made sure I got my moneys worth though, and ran up to say hi to Andrew Robinson and Michael Dorn. Andy was brilliant, he didn’t care about walking through the crowds, or taking security he just got up and walked out to have dinner with the rest of us human beings!

    • Sounds like you went to a different convention, to the one I went to. I had front seat for all the talks with the stars, no tickets for that, and the centre stage, where they showed you makeup and so on, that was a free to sit and watch. Which was very interesting, spent most of sunday with Conner and co, chatting about how they wished they had the full 7 seasons. Went upto Gowron and he snarled at me… So to say the things you did, really means you did not try hard enough.

Icing on the cake, standing with Scott Bakula and talking to him about Quantum leap, before he went onto stage, he even gave me a hand shake.

And Bill shatner gave me some of his greatest lines from Star Trek…

Face to face with all my hero’s and I only had a weekend pass, no VIP for me!

  4. Having attended Destination Star Trek last year in London, I can’t say I’m really excited about going to this years event. In fact I won’t be!!!!
To be honest and I probably speak for thousands of other people, you are better off leaving you money in your pocket and putting your trousers in the washing machine on a hot wash.
Total waste of money, with very little to see or do. Oh sorry I forgot, you can queue all day for the fun of it.
As for organisation, total lack of, and I’m not sure why the organisers think that film actors need to be hidden behind screens. The organisers put more effort in hiding the captains away, so passers by cant even get a glimpse then actully looking after the fans attending.
Needless to say after walking run the event in 10 minutes having seen everything and spent 5 hours queuing for nothing, my wife and I decided to leave and spent the rest of the day sight seeing in London.

Maybe the so called organisers (who couldn’t organise a pub crawl in a brewery) should take a pen and notepad, attend a proper convention or event like MCM Comic Con London or MCM Memorbilla in Birmingham, and take notes on how is done.!!!!
Maybe then the event wouldn’t appear on Watchdog with thousands of complaints.!!!

    • Got to shake your hand for this, we felt the same. I commented on the day, that someone had released the staff from day care at the local institution to run things. Basically it was pay just for the privilege of having your hand stamped. And the free shows.. only if you have a ticket, if not don’t look in! Or we will tell you to move away! Gratz to my bro for standing up to them about that. As I said in another comment, bless Andrew Robinson, he was the only down to earth actor, he got up from his signing booth and instead of security he just walked out to go to lunch, at which point I ran up and said Hi to him ^_^
