Star Trek 3 To Shoot Next Year?

Zachary-Quinto-At the 2013 Galway Film Fleadh, Ireland’s leading film festival on Friday, July 12, Zachary Quinto told an audience:

“Star Trek 3 should be filming, I suppose, next year. It’s going to be made a lot quicker than the last one. That’s the plan, although nothing is confirmed yet.”

Quinto was discussing his career and roles in Star Trek, Heroes and American Horror Story. He also mentioned that JJ Abrams is planning to direct but didn’t elaborate any further on that statement.

Since its release in May (2013), Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness has raked in over $440 million (£290 million) at the box office worldwide – exceeding the total gross of his 2009 reboot Star Trek, which took around $385 million (£255 million) worldwide.
