J.J. Abrams appeared on the Conan O’Brien show on Wednesday night, he addressed the controversy surrounding a scene that saw Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) checking out Carol Marcus (Alice Eve) in her underwear, Abrams explained that the moment was in line with Kirk’s character, though he admitted that perhaps he didn’t quite edit “the scene in the right way.”
There was a deleted scene with Benedict Cumberbatch in the shower that didn’t make the cut of the film.
“We had a scene with him where we saw him actually take a shower,” Abrams told Conan O’Brien. “It’s not in the movie but we have this. It’s one of those things we ended up cutting.”
