This is a press release for the graphic novel of Blood Kiss.  Blood Kiss is by Emmy Award winning writer Michael Reaves, who has written and produced literally hundreds of scripts for various TV series, including Star Trek: The Next Generation, Twilight Zone, Sliders, The Flash, Father Dowling Mysteries, and Disney’s Gargoyles.

Tom Mandrake (Batman, Grimjack,The Spectre, Martian Manhunter) is creating a new BLOOD KISS graphic novel simultaneous with the feature film. He’ll be working with Sian Mandrake, his gifted artist daughter.

The movie is set in 1940s Hollywood with star Vampires. A classic film noir tale of a Sexy Jazz Singer with a dark secret and a Private Investigator who falls for her.

The graphic novel will expand the story beyond the film and features Mandrake’s remarkable pencils. Sample art on view at .

“I love the Horror genre and was thrilled after I read the script, it’s a great vampire story. I’m in a unique situation because we’re working on the movie and the graphic novel at the same time.” says Tom Mandrake.

Reaves, who is in the advanced stages of Parkinson’s disease, announced his crowd-funding campaign on May 15th, with an initial goal of $50,000, which they surpassed in less than 2 weeks.

The film announced Amber Benson will portray Ruby, the sexy jazz singer, and Neil Gaiman will tackle his first non-Neil Gaiman acting role, as Julian Cross, an eccentric Hollywood movie director.

“I’m willing to pretend that the prospect of acting doesn’t terrify me in order to help Michael Reaves make his film.” says Neil Gaiman.

The novel will be available first as a special limited edition to Kickstarter backers, and then in wide release. To see the latest on this exciting project, please visit
