Redshirt is a term used by fans and staff of Star Trek to refer partially to the characters who wear red Starfleet uniforms, and mainly to refer to those characters who are expendable, and quite often killed, sometimes in great numbers.

Apparently he actually played a redshirt, albeit briefly, in an episode of the original series called “The Corbomite Maneuver”. This would be the idea for the second t-shit.
And perfectly playing to the gimmick of his current beer-shilling identity, he’s too interesting to kill.
